Donate your leftover currency to Poverty Child

Poverty Child is a registered charity dedicated to improving life for street and slum connected children.

No child should have to experience the cruel realities of living on the street. It is this belief that has driven Poverty Child to tackle child poverty in the developing world since 2013, specifically in countries that have witnessed rapid expansion in urban slums, such as in the Philippines, Indonesia, and India.

Poverty Child’s vision is to realise a world where no child finds themselves in poverty or needs protection from it. It is the charity’s goal to positively impact the lives of 1 million children over the next 10 years so that they are not tied to the life they were born into, but have the opportunity to create a life they deserve.

It is easy to donate your leftover currency to Poverty Child. To get started, download and fill out the Poverty Child exchange form.

Your currency donation can help Poverty Child achieve this goal by funding their work helping street and slum connected children. That means supporting children who would otherwise have to scavenge through garbage looking for something to eat, or sell for food. These are kids that are vulnerable to exploitation by criminal gangs and sexual predators, and often end up living a life filled with misery.

In the Philippines, Poverty Child is currently working with a partner on delivering a sports and education programme targeted at street and slum children. The kids receive football coaching and get to represent their neighbourhood in district and regional leagues. They also receive regular meals, as well literacy and numeracy lessons, and the older ones are given vocational training. Above all though, the children build aspiration for a better life thanks to their newfound skills and confidence.
