Extra currencies added – September 2017

Since we launched the new version of our website in December 2016 we have been busy adding new currencies. Here is a list of the extra currencies added recently:

Bulgarian Leva coins

We have started with the exchange of Bulgarian Leva coins. All Bulgarian lev and stotinki coins from the 1999 New Lev series can now be exchanged for cash in three easy steps.

Bulgarian Leva current banknotes

One of the extra currencies added is the Bulgarian Lev. We are now able to exchange all current Bulgarian Lev banknotes. These are the banknotes of the New Lev series introduced in 1999, currently in circulation in Bulgaria.

Bulgarian Leva old banknotes

The old Bulgarian Leva banknotes from before 1999 have also been added to the list of extra currencies accepted for exchange. These banknotes were redenominated in 1999 and were replaced at a ratio of 1000 old leva to 1 new lev. We exchange all old Bulgarian Lev banknotes.

CFA West African Franc current banknotes

Banknotes from the West African monetary union Communauté Financière d’Afrique (CFA) are from now on exchangeable for cash. These banknotes are in use in Benin, Burkina Faso, Guinea-Bissau, Ivory Coast, Mali, Niger, Senegal and Togo.

CFA West African Franc old banknotes

The CFA Franc from West Africa is one of the currencies added recently. In addition to current CFA Franc banknotes, we also accept CFA francs from older, discontinued banknote series.

Chinese Yuan current banknotes

Chinese Yuan current banknotes have been added to the items accepted for exchange. Any leftover Chinese Yuan Renminbi banknotes from the current Fifth Series, issued from 1999, can now be exchanged for cash in three easy steps.

Chinese Yuan coins

Chinese Yuan Renminbi coins are also included in the list of extra currencies added for exchange. All Chinese coins denominated in yuan, jiao (1/10 yuan) and fen (1/100 yuan) can be converted to cash in three easy steps.

Chinese Yuan withdrawn banknotes

All older banknotes from the Chinese Yuan Renminbi can now also be exchanged for cash in three steps. This includes Chinese Jiao banknotes, which have a value of 1/10 yuan, and Fen banknotes, with a value of 1/100 yuan.

Chinese Yuan foreign exchange certificates

These foreign exchange certificates were issued by the Bank of China from 1979 until 1995. During these years they were the only mean of payment accepted for tourists in the People’s Republic of China. We now accept Chinese Yuan foreign exchange certificates for exchange.

Icelandic Kronur current banknotes

Next on the list of added currencies is the Icelandic Krona. Any leftover paper money from Iceland can now be converted back to USD, GBP and EUR using our easy online exchange service.

Icelandic Kronur coins

Coins from Iceland are now also exchangeable on the Leftover Currency website. All Icelandic Krona coins, from 1 krona to 100 kronur, can going forward be converted to cash in three easy steps.

Icelandic Kronur withdrawn banknotes

These older series banknotes from Iceland can now also be exchanged at Leftover Currency. Withdrawn Icelandic Krona banknotes are no longer legal tender in Iceland, but they can be exchanged for a rate that covers their collectible value.

Macedonian Denar current banknotes

Macedonian Denari have been included in the list of added currencies. All current banknotes from the former Yugoslavian Republic of Macedonia can now be exchanged in three easy steps.

Macedonian Denar coins

Coins from the Former Yugoslavian Republic of Macedonia have been added to the extra currencies accepted for exchange. You can now cash in on your leftover coins from Macedonia in three simple steps.

Macedonian Denar old banknotes

In addition to current Macedonian Denar banknotes, we have also started with the exchange of old, discontinued Macedonian Denar banknote series. Any withdrawn bills from the Former Yugoslavian Republic of Macedonia can now be converted to cash.

Malaysian Ringgit current banknotes

All current banknotes from Malaysia have been added to the site. Malaysian Ringgit banknotes from the 3rd and 4th series can now be exchanged in three easy steps. This includes the low denomination banknotes of 1 Ringgit and 2 Ringgit, which are not accepted for exchange at most other bureaux de change.

Malaysian Ringgit coins

Coins from Malaysia are part of the newly added currencies accepted for exchange. All Malaysian coins, from 1 sen to $1 dollar, are included. This includes coins from older coin series all the way back to 1967.

Malaysian Ringgit discontinued banknotes

Banknotes from the 1st and 2nd series of the Malaysian Ringgit have been discontinued and are no longer accepted for payments in Malaysia. We have started with the exchange of old discontinued Malaysian Ringgit banknotes from the 1st and 2nd series.

Russian Ruble current banknotes

The Russian Ruble is one of the currencies added to the website for exchange. Any Rubles banknotes from the Russian Federation, dated 1997 or later can now be exchanged using our simple 3-step process.

Russian old Ruble banknotes

In 1997 the Russian Ruble was redenominated: 1000 old Ruble became 1 new Ruble. The old Ruble banknotes were demonetised and lost their legal tender value. At Leftover Currency we have started with the exchange of these old Russian Ruble banknotes from before 1997.

South African Rand current banknotes

We have added the South African Rand to the list of currencies exchangeable at Leftover Currency. All current banknotes of the colorful series with the image of Nelson Mandela can now be exchanged free of charge.

South African Rand coins

Coins from South Africa, from 1 cent to 5 rand, are now included in the list of currencies for which we exchange foreign coins to cash. It’s now easy to exchange South African rand coins using our three-step online exchange service.

South African Rand withdrawn banknotes

The older sets of South Africa’s banknotes are still legal tender but they are often not accepted for exchange abroad. We have now started to accept the old discontinued South African Rand banknotes for exchange. It’s now easy to get cash for your old paper money from South Africa.

South Korean Won current banknotes

Banknotes from the Republic of Korea are now also accepted for exchange at Leftover Currency. If you have any of the current South Korean Won banknotes, you can now convert them to cash using our easy three-step online exchange process.
