Emmaus Bristol is a homelessness charity working to give hope and a sense of belonging to those who may have experienced homelessness and poverty. The residents, called ‘companions’, come to Emmaus Bristol in need of a stable home.

Provide a home, support, training and work experience for up to 30 formerly homeless men and women in Bristol

The Emmaus community provides everyone with a furnished bedroom, covers all bills, provides food and basic toiletries. The Companions are supported to take an active part in society by gaining meaningful work experience in Emmaus Bristol’s social enterprises and community, contributing to the best of their ability. Emmaus Bristol’s social enterprises include charity shops, house clearances, a vintage eBay store and upcycling old furniture.

The Emmaus community is a safe space that enables people to settle and rebuild their lives. 

Emmaus Bristol builds back individuals self-confidence and a sense of self-worth, offering the companionship, support and sense of belonging that many people who have experienced homelessness may have lost. The Emmaus community encourage people to share experiences and take advantage of peer to peer support.

Donate your leftover travel money to Emmaus Bristol

It's easy to donate your leftover holiday cash; Simply fill out our charity exchange form and send it along with your currency to our Datchet office. We will exchange all currency, coins and notes, foreign and domestic, and donate the exchange value plus 5% extra to Emmaus Bristol.

How much of my donation goes to Emmaus Bristol?

We donate the complete exchange value plus 5% extra to Emmaus Bristol. There are no fees, neither do we subtract any commission. You will receive a confirmation email, containing the amount donate. We will share this information with Emmaus Bristol.

Which banknotes and coins can I donate?

You can donate any coins or notes, foreign or domestic. We will exchange whatever currency you send us and will donate the combined exchange value plus five percent extra to Emmaus Bristol.

We will exchange currencies listed on our exchangeable currencies page against the exchange rates shows.

All other banknotes and coins will be exchanged against their numismatic value, bullion value or scrap metal value, whichever is higher. It helps if you sort the currency before you send it. But if you are unable to sort your currency, don't worry. We will take care of the sorting and counting free of charge.
