Two Nepalese school children

Heartland Academy, Palpa: in April of 2023, CLCR opened its second Heartland school in the remote region of Jagbadi in Palpa. HAP offers co-education from Nursery up to primary grade 5.

The development of this project and school was based on strong community partnership, consultation, and engagement, with HAP set up to be a source of community support, employment and educational opportunity for students and families within the region.

Much like Heartland in Kathmandu, HAP’s goal is to provide long term educational opportunity, especially to young women and marginalized caste groups within the region

The charity are in the process of large-scale school building design and extensive teacher training of their local team to support a strong student centred, life skill-based education to empower the local population.

CLCR aim to expand into the lower and upper secondary school sections over the next few years as well as the college/ tertiary level (11-12).

Funding will be used for expanding scholarship provision to children of the region as well as school resources and the building of expansive facilities for the school as it grows.
