The first issue banknote of 1/2 dinar from the Bahrain Currency Board has an image of Mina Salman seaport where ships are being loaded, shown on the English language side. On the Arabic language side of the purple coloured half dinar note is the image of dhow sailing boats and a shield with the coat of arms of Bahrain with five white indentations to represent the five pillars of the Muslim faith.
