100 old Polish Zlotych banknote (Ludwik Waryński)
The Narodowy Bank Polski issued Polish Zloty banknotes in 19 different denominations, including this 100 old Polish Zlotych banknote (Ludwik Waryński). They are part of the old Polish Zloty banknotes series. The Narodowy Bank Polski started issuing these 100 Polish Zloty banknotes in 1975. They were withdrawn from circulation in 1995.
The banknote of 100 old Polish Zlotych was worth very little after many years of high inflation in Communist Poland. When the new Zloty currency was introduced in 1995, four zeroes were dropped from the currency. The 100 old Zlotych bill was replaced by a coin of 0.01 zloty (1 Grosz). On the front of the Sto Zlotych banknote is the portrait of civil activist Ludwik Warynski. The back side of the old one hundred zloty note shows the first edition of the 1883 newspaper Proletareat.
