This 1 Greek Drachma coin features a portrait of Laskarina Bouboulina on the obverse side, and a corvette coastal patrol ship of the 1821 Greek War of Independence on the reverse side. The old 1 GRD coin was made of copper, with a weight of 2.8 grams and a diameter of 18mm, making it the smallest Greek coin that was in circulation in the decades before the introduction of the Euro in 2002.
