This 500 new Taiwan dollar banknote features a portrait of Chiang Kai-shek, leader of the Republic of China (Taiwan). The reverse of this discontinued 500 TWD note depicts the Chung-Shan building in the Yangmingshan National Park. It was built in 1965 to house the National Assembly, and is now used for state and Presidential functions
