The Reserve Bank of New Zealand has demonetised all New Zealand dollar coins of 5 cents, 2 cents and 1 cent. These coins are no longer legal tender in New Zealand. In addition, the large type 20 cent and 50 cent coins, and the cupronickel 10 cent coins have been replaced by more recent coins.
