2 1/2 Dutch Guilders banknote (Zilverbon)
The Nederlandsche Bank issued Dutch Guilder banknotes in 11 different denominations, including this 2 1/2 Dutch Guilders banknote (Zilverbon). They are part of the Dutch Guilder banknotes series. The Nederlandsche Bank started issuing these 2.5 Dutch Guilder banknotes in 1938. They were withdrawn from circulation in 1945.
This banknote has a peculiar denomination: two and a half guilders. It was in use during the German occupation of the Netherlands in World War II. The design is simple with geometrical patterns and squares.
