The Nederlandsche Bank started issuing these 25 Dutch Guilder banknotes in 1949. They were withdrawn from circulation in 1955.

This banknote of 25 Guilders depicts King Solomon, the Biblical King of Israel. Also featured on the old 25 gulden note is a scene in which St Martin, who cut his cloak in two and gave half of it to a beggar. In the background is the city of Amiens in France where St Martin is said to have given half his cloak to the beggar.
