These older series of Nigerian Naira banknotes are made of paper. The old paper naira notes of ₦50, ₦20, ₦10 and ₦5 have been withdrawn from circulation by the Central Bank of Nigeria and replaced by new polymer ones with a longer lifespan. The ₦1 and 50 kobo notes have been replaced by coins.
