The Hungarian National Bank issued Hungarian Forint banknotes in 7 different denominations, including this 1000 Hungarian Forints banknote (King Matyas 2017). They are part of the current Hungarian Forint banknotes series. The Hungarian National Bank started issuing these 1000 Hungarian Forint banknotes in 2017. They are currently still in circulation.
The new banknote of 1000 Hungarian Forint has a similar design to the outmoded types of 1000 Ezer Forint banknotes from Hungary. Similar to the older versions this type, dated 2017 or later, has the image of King Matyas, medieval ruler of Hungary and Croatia. On the back side of the 1000 forint bill is an image of Hercules Fountain in Visegrád Castle.
