The banknote of 10 Lithuanian litu features heroic aviators Steponas Darius and Stasys Girénas and their monoplane ‘Lituanica’. The two Lithuanian pilots crossed the Atlantic Ocean in 1933 during a non-stop flight which ended unfortunate. Their plane crashed in Germany, killing both pilots. They had completed the Atlantic crossing and were only 636km short of their goal, Kaunas in Lithuania.
