This limandaang piso banknote features Benigno “Ninoy” Aquino, Jr., Senator, governor and husband of Filipino president Corazon Aquino, along with a flag and a typewriter. In 1983, Benigno Aquino Jr was assasinated at the tarmac of the Manila International airport which is now named Ninoy Aquino International Airport in his honor. On the paper banknote a caption reads ‘Republika Ng Pilipinas’.
