The State Bank of Vietnam issued Vietnamese Dong banknotes in 6 different denominations, including this 100,000 Vietnamese Dong banknote. They are part of the current Vietnamese Dong banknotes series. The State Bank of Vietnam started issuing these 100000 Vietnamese Dong banknotes in 2004. They are currently still in circulation.

Like all other polymer Vietnamese banknotes, the green-coloured 100,000 dong bill features the portrait of revolutionary leader Ho Chi Minh on the front side. The back of the ‘Mot Tram Nghin Dong’ bill shows the Temple of Literature, a Temple of Confucius in Hanoi, northern Vietnam.
