This one dollar – un dollar banknote depicts His Majesty King George VI. The paper note contains the words ‘bank of Canada – banque du Canada’. The Bank of Canada issued these banknotes only two years after the previous issue. This was because of the death of King George V and the decision to introduce bilingual banknotes.
