Issued by the Bogotá-based Banco de la República since 2014, the current set of Colombian Peso banknotes all feature two images of an important historical figure from Colombia: one showing the person standing and another showing a close up portrait.
The banknotes range from $2,000 to $100,000 pesos but the last three zeroes are replaced by the word ‘Mil’ (thousand).
