20 Sri Lankan rupees banknote (Gurulu mask)
The Central Bank of Sri Lanka issued Sri Lankan Rupee banknotes in 11 different denominations,
including this 20 Sri Lankan rupees banknote (Gurulu mask). They are part of the withdrawn Sri Lankan Rupees banknotes series. The Central Bank of Sri Lanka started issuing
these 20 Sri Lankan Rupee banknotes in 1991. They were withdrawn from circulation in 2010.
The Gurulu Raksha Mask on the front of this 20 Rupee banknote from Sri Lanka is a representation of the mythical Gurulu bird (which carried Lord Vishnu, the Hindu God) destoying the snake Naga.
