The green-coloured Rs10 bill from Ceylon shows a portrait of Solomon West Ridgeway Dias Bandaranaike who was Prime Minister of Ceylon until he was assassinated in 1959 by a Buddhist monk. The text on the banknote is in Sinhala and reads ‘Central Bank of Ceylon’. The English text reads ‘Ten Rupees’.
