The Negara Bank Malaysia issued Malaysian Ringgit banknotes in 9 different denominations, including this 50 Malaysian Ringgit (2nd series 1986). They are part of the withdrawn Malaysian Ringgit banknotes series. The Negara Bank Malaysia started issuing these 50 Malaysian Ringgit banknotes in 1986. They were withdrawn from circulation in 2000.
Similar to other Malay banknotes, the RM50 note from the 2nd Series has a portrait of Abdul Rahman of Negeri Sembilan. The building on the back of the $50 Malaysian Ringgit note is the National Museum in Kuala Lumpur.
