This ฿1000 baht note is the highest value banknote in Thailand. It was issued with the portrait of the new King, Rama X, following the death of King Rama IX, Bhumibol Adulyadej, in 2016. The new series of Thai Baht banknotes features the ten Kings called Rama. On the reverse side of the one thousand baht bill are the portraits of Kings Rama IX Bhumibol Adulyadej (1927-2016) and Rama X Maha Vajiralongkorn (born in 1952).
