1000 Nepalese Rupees banknote (Mount Everest)
The Nepal Rastra Bank issued Nepalese Rupee banknotes in 8 different denominations, including this 1000 Nepalese Rupees banknote (Mount Everest). They are part of the current Nepalese Rupee banknotes series. The Nepal Rastra Bank started issuing these 1000 Nepalese Rupee banknotes in 2007. They are currently still in circulation.
On the obverse side of the 1000 Rupees banknote are images of Mount Everest, Harati temple and Swayambhunath Stupa, also known as the Monkey Temple, a major Hindu pilgrimage site in Kathmandu. The back side of the 1000 NPR bill features an elephant and the text “Rupees One Thousand”. The Rs1000 bill is Nepal’s highest value banknote.
