50 Nepalese Rupees banknote (Mount Everest)
The Nepal Rastra Bank issued Nepalese Rupee banknotes in 8 different denominations, including this 50 Nepalese Rupees banknote (Mount Everest). They are part of the current Nepalese Rupee banknotes series. The Nepal Rastra Bank started issuing these 50 Nepalese Rupee banknotes in 2007. They are currently still in circulation.
On the blue-coloured Rs50 banknote from Nepal is the image of Mt Everest on the front side, along with Janaki Temple, a Hindu temple in Janakpu. The back side features a thar (wild goat) on the banknotes of 2012 and earlier. The new 2015 version of the Fifty Rupees note has a snow leopard, also known as ounce, pictured on the back side, against a backdrop of snowy mountains. Text on the 50 NPR banknote reads “Rupees Fifty”.
