The 5000 Serbian dinara banknote depicts Slobodan Jovanović, the Serbian lawyer, politician and historian. He was Prime Minister of the Yugoslav government in exile in London between 1942 and 1943, where he continued to live until his death in 1958, having been sentenced in absentia to 20 years in prison by the Communist Authorities that took control of Yugoslavia after WWII. The RSD 5000 bill is the highest value banknote in Serbia.
