The banknotes of 1000, 5000 and 10,000 Sheqalim issued in the years after all had the same size. On the portrait of the IS500 bill is Baron Edmond de Rothschild, the banker who helped finance the creation of the state of Israel. Other items on the banknote include farmers, stylized houses and grapes.
