The Bank of Mexico issued Mexican Peso banknotes in 15 different denominations, including this 100 old Mexican Pesos banknote (Venustiano Carranza). They are part of the obsolete Old Mexican Peso banknotes series. The Bank of Mexico started issuing these 100 Mexican Peso banknotes in 1975. They were withdrawn from circulation in 1992.

The violet-coloured $100 old Mexican Pesos bill features independence movement leader Venustiano Carranza on the front side. In the centre on the front side is a fragment of the fresco “La trinchera” by José Clemente Orozco. The back side of the Cien Pesos MXP bill shows a “Chacmool” Mesoamerican sculpture.
