The Bank of Thailand issued Thai Baht banknotes in 10 different denominations,
including this 500 Thai Baht banknote (Mature King Rama IX). They are part of the withdrawn Thai Baht banknotes series. The Bank of Thailand started issuing
these 500 Thai Baht banknotes in 1996. They were withdrawn from circulation in 2014.
This purple and red-violet 500 baht note shows the portrait of a mature King Rama IX. Printed on the paper banknote is the text ‘Bank of Thailand’. On the backside of the 500 THB are the Temple of the Emerald Buddha, King Rama I with hat and Rama II with sword.
