The Bank of Thailand issued Thai Baht banknotes in 11 different denominations,
including this 500 Thai Baht banknote (Young King Rama IX). They are part of the withdrawn Thai Baht banknotes series. The Bank of Thailand started issuing
these 500 Thai Baht banknotes in 1975. They were withdrawn from circulation in 2001.
This 500 baht note has the image of a young King Rama IX, wearing traditional robes. Printed on the paper banknote is the text ‘Bank of Thailand’. Featured on the back of the old 500 THB note are the three towers of Phra Prang Sam Yot, a Khmer temple in Lopburi town.
