70 Thai Baht commemorative banknote
The Bank of Thailand issued Thai Baht banknotes in 13 different denominations,
including this 70 Thai Baht commemorative banknote. They are part of the withdrawn Thai Baht banknotes series. The Bank of Thailand started issuing
these 70 Thai Baht banknotes in 2016. They were withdrawn from circulation in 2017.
The orange colored 70 baht note was issued to commemorate King Bhumibol Adulyadej’s accession to the throne. The King, also referred to as Rama IX, is pictured on both sides of the banknote. The front of the note shows King a mature Rama IX, whereas the back side shows a portrait of a young King Rama IX. The banknote has a vertical orientation.
